BestGrowthApps helps Shopify store owners pick the right apps without the guesswork. The App Store has thousands of apps and most “best of” lists are thin, out of date, or quietly ranked by who pays the most. We do the opposite: we test, compare, and rank apps on what they actually do, what they cost, and how they hold up for real stores.

What we do

We publish three kinds of content, all focused on Shopify:

• Best-of roundups — the top apps in a category (upsells, bundles, pre-orders, order tracking, SEO, and more), compared side by side with current pricing and ratings.
• Hands-on reviews — a single app, broken down honestly: what it’s good at, where it falls short, and who it’s actually for.
• How-to guides — practical walkthroughs for common growth jobs like running a BOGO sale, setting up pre-orders, or reducing returns.

How we pick and rank

Our rankings are built on evidence, not opinions or payouts. For every app we cover, we:

• Set it up and use it on a test store so we can speak to how it really works, not just what the listing claims.
• Pull current data straight from the Shopify App Store — pricing tiers, features, and ratings — and re-check it regularly, since these change often.
• Weight ratings by review volume, so a 5.0 from a handful of reviews doesn’t outrank a 4.8 backed by thousands.
• Rank by merit. An app’s position reflects its features, pricing, and track record, never whether it pays a commission.

How we make money

BestGrowthApps is an independent publication, not affiliated with Shopify or the developers we review. Our reviews and roundups are published under our editorial byline, Jessa Mariano, which carries our standard for accuracy, balance, and plain language. We don’t accept payment to change a verdict, and we correct anything we get wrong.
