Checked 22 October 2026: Bold Discounts has been removed from
the Shopify App Store. Its listing returns “this app is not currently available”, and we found no
renamed version. Bold Memberships and Bold Custom Pricing have gone the same way.
Bold Discounts was the long-standing answer for scheduled flash sales on Shopify: set a discount, give it a
start and end time, and let it run without coupon codes. It had been listed since 2012 and carried 504 reviews.
It is now gone, which leaves a specific gap — most remaining discount apps do automatic volume
pricing rather than scheduled storewide sales, and those are not the same job.
Below are the closest options, with that distinction made explicit, because picking the wrong kind will waste
your time.
Quick comparison: five discount apps that still exist
| App | Rating | Best for | Price | Key difference | Our link |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4.9 / 640 | Automatic volume discounts | Free to install, then $9 | Tiered quantity pricing applied automatically, no codes | Partner link | |
| 5.0 / 143 | Quantity breaks at no cost | Free | Genuinely free with no paid tier | Partner link | |
| new / few | Scheduled flash sales | Free, then $9.99 | The closest match to what Bold Discounts did, but a very thin review base | Partner link | |
| 4.9 / 1,321 | BOGO and free-gift promotions | Free to install, then $29 | Deepest review base in discounts; our tracking link is frozen so this one is direct | Direct, not a partner | |
| 5.0 / 45 | Generating discount codes in bulk | Free, then $14.99 | Makes thousands of unique codes; a different job from automatic discounts | Direct, not a partner |
Checked against the live Shopify App Store listings on 22 October 2026. BFS = Built for Shopify.
Dealeasy: Volume Discounts — 4.9 from 640 reviews, Free to install, then $9.
The strongest all-rounder still standing: 4.9 from 640 reviews with the Built for Shopify badge. It runs automatic tiered discounts without codes, which covers most of what stores used Bold for — with the caveat that scheduling a storewide flash sale is not its core trick.

First, work out which job you actually need
Bold Discounts did two things that stores conflate:
- Scheduled sales. A percentage off a collection or the whole store, starting and ending at a
set time, with prices reverting automatically. This is what most people mean by “Black Friday app”. - Automatic discounting without codes. Price reductions applied at the cart without the
customer typing anything.
Shopify’s own automatic discounts now cover a fair amount of the second case for free, and they can be
scheduled. Before installing anything, check whether native discounts plus a scheduled publish does what you
need — for a simple storewide percentage, it often does.
1. Dealeasy: Volume Discounts
4.9 from 640 reviews · Built for Shopify · Free to install, then $9
The closest thing to a default recommendation. Dealeasy applies tiered quantity
discounts automatically — buy two save 10%, buy three save 15% — with a display grid on the product
page, and it holds the deepest review base of the apps still available in this category.
Where it differs from Bold: this is quantity-based pricing rather than a scheduled storewide event. If your
Bold usage was “20% off everything this weekend”, test Shopify’s native automatic discounts first
and keep Dealeasy for the volume-pricing side.

2. G: Volume Discounts & Bundles
5.0 from 143 reviews · Built for Shopify · Free
Free outright, with no paid tier, 5.0 from 143 reviews and the Built for Shopify
badge. It covers volume discounts and bundles.
If your requirement is quantity breaks and your budget is zero, this is the obvious first install. The free
price means the risk of trying it is only your setup time.

3. DiscountPal Flash Sale Manager
new listing · Free, then $9.99
The closest match in intent — it is explicitly a flash sale manager, which
is exactly what Bold Discounts was — with a free plan and paid tiers at $9.99, $14.99 and $24.99.
The caution is its review base, which is very thin. We would not move a Black Friday plan onto an unproven
app without testing the full sale cycle first: prices changing on schedule, and more importantly reverting on
schedule.

4. Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO
4.9 from 1,321 reviews · Built for Shopify · Free to install, then $29
The deepest-reviewed app in this category at 4.9 from 1,321 reviews with Built for
Shopify, covering BOGO offers, free gifts and discounts. Free to install, then from $29 a month.
We link this one directly rather than through our tracking link, which is currently frozen, so we earn
nothing if you install it. It is here because on the numbers it deserves to be.

5. Code Bulk Discounts
5.0 from 45 reviews · Built for Shopify · Free, then $14.99
A different job worth naming in case it is the one you need: generating large
batches of unique discount codes, rather than applying automatic price reductions. 5.0 from 45 reviews, free
plan, then $14.99.
If you ran Bold alongside code-based campaigns for influencers or partners, this covers that half. We link it
directly because it left our partner programme in October 2026, so we earn nothing from it either way.

Bottom line. For quantity-based discounting, Dealeasy on the paid tier or G: Volume
Discounts if you want it free. For scheduled storewide sales specifically, try Shopify’s native automatic
discounts first, and only reach for DiscountPal if you need more — testing the full start-and-revert cycle
before any sale that matters.
Common questions
Why was Bold Discounts removed from the Shopify App Store?
The listing returns “this app is not currently available” as of 22 October 2026 and we found no renamed version. Shopify does not publish reasons for delistings. Notably, Bold Memberships and Bold Custom Pricing were removed as well, so this looks like more than a single-app decision.
Will Bold Discounts keep working on my store?
Removed apps often keep running on existing installs, but they stop receiving updates and support becomes uncertain. Do not plan a Black Friday around one. Move before the sale you cannot afford to lose.
What is the best free Bold Discounts alternative?
G: Volume Discounts & Bundles is free outright with 5.0 from 143 reviews and the Built for Shopify badge. For simple scheduled percentage discounts, Shopify’s own automatic discounts cost nothing either.
Can Shopify schedule sales without an app?
Native automatic discounts support scheduling and apply without codes, which covers a simple storewide or collection-wide percentage. What they do not do is the extras Bold layered on, such as sale icons, countdown displays and automatic sale tagging.
Do I need to remove Bold Discounts before installing a replacement?
Run them in parallel only if you are certain their rules cannot both apply. Two discounting apps touching the same products is a reliable way to sell something at an unintended price, so test on a few SKUs first.
Which other Bold apps are affected?
Bold Memberships and Bold Custom Pricing were also removed, verified the same day. Bold Upsell, Bold Subscriptions and rePete were still live when we checked on 22 October 2026.
Ratings, pricing and availability were checked against the live Shopify App Store listings on 22 October 2026 and can change. This page contains partner links: if you install through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Apps marked “direct, not a partner” earn us nothing and are included because leaving them out would make the page less useful. We have not run every app here on a live store; assessments come from the listings, published pricing and review distributions.
