What G: Combined Listings actually does
Products are linked into groups, manually or by rule. Once grouped, each product page shows selectors for its siblings, image swatches, colour swatches, buttons or dropdowns, so a shopper on the navy cap can see and reach the white, pink and black ones without going back to the collection. Each product keeps its own URL, which is the point: individual variant URLs and the SEO that comes with them, while the storefront behaves as though they were one listing. Swatches can also be shown on collection pages, so the variations are visible before the click.
At catalogue scale the automation matters more than the display. Groups can be generated by product tag, by title pattern such as ‘Product name – Variant’, or by metafield, which handles thousands of products in one operation. Product information can be synced across a group so siblings stay consistent, and there is CSV import and export for bulk edits. The listing also supports splitting existing variants into standalone products, and states that Shopify’s own native Combined Listings feature is supported.

Pros & cons
- 5.0 from 452 reviews with the Built for Shopify badge
- Each colourway keeps its own URL and indexable page while shoppers still see the alternatives
- Automatic grouping by tag, title pattern or metafield handles thousands of products at once
- Swatches on collection pages, not just product pages
- Free Starter tier with 3 product groups is enough to test the structure properly
- Priced by Shopify plan, so a Plus store pays $99.90 for what a Basic store gets at $14.90
- Free tier’s 3 groups is a demonstration, not a working configuration
- Swatch rendering depends on your theme, check it before committing
- If your catalogue is already built as single products with variants, you are signing up for a restructure
- We have not run it on a live store; this assessment comes from the listing, pricing and review distribution

Before you spend trial time
- Group three products on the free tier and check the swatches render correctly on your theme
- Confirm each sibling keeps its own URL and that the canonical tags are what you expect
- Test an automatic grouping rule on a small tag before letting it loose on the catalogue
- Check the collection-page swatches on mobile, where they are easiest to get wrong
- Work out your tier from your Shopify plan before the trial ends, the price is set by that, not usage
- If you are splitting existing variants into products, plan redirects for the URLs you change

Closing take
The structural choice this app enables, separate, individually rankable products that behave like one listing, is the right one for most stores selling colourways, and doing it by hand is miserable past a dozen products.
Test on the free three groups, confirm your theme renders the swatches properly, and then price it from your Shopify plan rather than your catalogue size. On Basic and Grow it is inexpensive for what it does; on Plus you should be weighing the $99.90 against how central colourways are to your range.

Frequently asked questions
What is a combined listing on Shopify?
A way of linking separate products so they appear connected on the storefront, a shopper on one colour sees swatches for the others, while each remains its own product with its own URL. It is the middle ground between one product with variants and six unconnected products.
Is it better for SEO than variants?
Keeping each colourway as its own product means each has its own URL, title and content to rank, which helps when shoppers search by colour or style. One product with variants concentrates everything on a single URL instead. Which is better depends on how people search for your products.
How is it priced?
By your Shopify plan rather than your usage: $5 a month on development and Pause plans, $14.90 on Basic, $29.90 on Grow, $49.90 on Advanced and $99.90 on Plus. A free Starter plan covers 3 product groups.
Can it group products automatically?
Yes, by product tag, by title pattern or by metafield, which is how you group thousands of products without linking them by hand. Test the rule on a small tag first.
Does it work with Shopify’s own Combined Listings?
The listing states Shopify’s native Combined Listings feature is supported, and it appears under the Plus tier alongside custom variant selectors.
Will the swatches match my theme?
Six selector styles are included and the swatches are configurable, but rendering always depends on the theme. Use the free tier to group three products and check the result on desktop and mobile before paying.
