Update, 7 September 2026: Re-checked. Cobinyiu still shows 5.0 from a single review and still has no Built for Shopify badge, five weeks after launch. Our verdict is unchanged, and the passage of time has made it firmer rather than softer.

Cobinyiu AI Search Review (2026)
A vector-search app that looks technically sensible and is far too new to recommend, here is what to watch before you commit.
SCORE
/10
Cobinyiu AI Search is a Shopify search app using vector search to interpret customer intent rather than matching keywords, with no coding required for setup. It launched on 3 August 2026 and, as of 7 September 2026 — five weeks later — still has exactly one review and does not carry the Built for Shopify badge. Pricing is tiered by catalogue size and metered on search credits: Starter $11 a month (up to 1,000 SKUs, 300-1,200 credits), Growth $30 (up to 10,000 SKUs), Pro $74 (up to 50,000 SKUs) and Elite $366 (100,001-500,000 SKUs), each with a 14-day free trial.

What Cobinyiu actually does
The app replaces Shopify’s built-in search with vector search, sometimes called semantic search. Instead of matching the words a customer typed against words in your product data, it converts the query and your catalogue into mathematical representations of meaning and finds the closest matches. In practice that means it can answer descriptive, intent-led queries, the kind customers actually type when they know what they want but not what you call it, rather than returning nothing because the phrasing did not match. Setup requires no coding.
Pricing is structured on two axes at once, which is unusual and worth understanding. Each tier caps the number of SKUs it covers, and separately allocates a monthly range of search credits: Starter covers up to 1,000 SKUs with 300 to 1,200 credits, Growth up to 10,000 SKUs with 800 to 3,200, Pro up to 50,000 SKUs with 2,000 to 8,000, and Elite covers 100,001 to 500,000 SKUs with 10,000 to 40,000 credits. Every tier includes a 14-day free trial, which is longer than most and gives you real time to test against your own traffic.

Pros & cons
- Vector search is the right technical approach to a real weakness in Shopify’s native search
- Internal site search is high-intent traffic, so improvements here convert better than most optimisations
- A 14-day free trial, longer than the 3- and 7-day trials typical of this category
- Tiered by catalogue size, so a small store is not priced as though it were an enterprise
- No coding required for setup
- Launched 3 August 2026 with one review, there is no track record to evaluate
- No Built for Shopify badge, expected for an app this new but still an absent signal
- Metered on search credits, and running out mid-month would break a feature that must work on every query
- A visible tier gap between 50,000 and 100,000 SKUs
- At $366 a month the top tier is a serious commitment to an unproven vendor

Before you spend trial time
- Ask support directly what consumes a search credit and what happens when the monthly allowance runs out
- If your catalogue is between 50,000 and 100,000 SKUs, ask which tier applies before trialling
- Test with the messy, descriptive queries your customers actually type, not clean product names
- Compare results side by side against your current search on the same twenty queries
- Use the full 14 days and watch a real traffic week, since search quality varies by query mix
- Given the app is weeks old, confirm what happens to your search if the vendor becomes unavailable
Pricing
Plans (verify on the listing): Starter $11/mo: up to 1,000 SKUs, 300-1,200 search credits a month. Growth $30/mo: 1,001-10,000 SKUs, 800-3,200 credits. Pro $74/mo: 10,001-50,000 SKUs, 2,000-8,000 credits. Elite $366/mo: 100,001-500,000 SKUs, 10,000-40,000 credits. All tiers include a 14-day free trial. Note that the published tiers leave a gap between 50,000 and 100,000 SKUs, and that credits are metered separately from catalogue size, establish what consumes a credit and what happens when the allowance is exhausted before you rely on it.

Closing take
We publish reviews of apps we can assess, and this is one we cannot assess yet. Eighteen days and one review is not evidence, and pretending otherwise would be doing you a disservice. The approach is sound, vector search genuinely outperforms keyword matching for intent-led queries, and Shopify’s native search leaves real room for improvement, but a good idea and a reliable product are different things.
If site search is costing you sales today, choose something with a track record. If you are curious about this one, the 14-day trial costs you nothing but time, and the credit-metering question is the first thing to resolve. We will revisit this review once there is a review base worth reading — but note that we said the same in August and nothing has moved since.

Frequently asked questions
Should I install Cobinyiu AI Search?
Not yet, for most stores. It launched on 3 August 2026 and has one review, so there is no track record to judge. Search is core infrastructure and a poor place to be an early adopter.
What is vector search?
It converts search queries and your product catalogue into mathematical representations of meaning, then finds the closest matches. That lets it answer descriptive, intent-led queries that keyword matching returns nothing for.
How much does it cost?
Starter $11, Growth $30, Pro $74 and Elite $366 a month, tiered by catalogue size and separately metered on monthly search credits. Every tier includes a 14-day free trial.
What are search credits?
A metered allowance separate from the SKU limit, Starter lists 300 to 1,200 a month. Before relying on the app, establish what consumes a credit and what happens when the allowance is exhausted, because a search feature that stops working mid-month is a serious failure.
Does it have the Built for Shopify badge?
No. That is expected for an app a few weeks old, since the badge reflects a track record, but it means one of the usual quality signals is unavailable.
What if my catalogue has 70,000 products?
The published tiers cover up to 50,000 SKUs on Pro and 100,001 to 500,000 on Elite, leaving a visible gap. Ask the developer which tier applies before starting a trial.
