Retailers with physical locations who need customers to find them, and who do not want to wrestle with a Google Maps API key to make it happen.
SCORE
/10
Way: Google Maps Store Locator adds a searchable Google Maps store locator to a Shopify storefront, either as a floating map or as a theme app block placed on a page. It requires no Google Maps API key, supports bulk import and export of locations, and launches directions to a chosen store. It holds a 4.6 rating from 124 reviews with the Built for Shopify badge. There is a genuine free plan covering one location with app branding; paid plans are $9.99 (50 locations), $19.99 (500) and $39.99 (2,000) a month, all with a 7-day free trial.

What Way actually does
The app renders a Google Maps store locator with a searchable list of your locations beside the map. A customer finds the nearest shop and taps through to turn-by-turn directions in their own maps app. Locations can be entered by hand or bulk imported and exported by file, which is the difference between an afternoon of data entry and a five-minute job once you pass a dozen shops. Crucially, none of this requires you to create a Google Maps Platform account or manage an API key, the app handles the mapping layer itself.
There are two ways to place it. The floating locator sits over the storefront and is available on every plan including free. The map widget is a theme app block, which means you can drop the locator into a dedicated Stores page, a footer, or a product page through the theme editor, and it becomes part of the page rather than an overlay. That widget is a paid feature. Paid plans also add a pop-up modal for handling multiple locations, full styling control including custom CSS, and removal of the app’s own branding from the storefront.

Pros & cons
- No Google Maps API key required, removes the single hardest part of building a store locator
- Genuine free plan for one location, not a development-store-only tier like most of this developer’s apps
- Bulk import and export of locations, which matters the moment you pass a dozen shops
- Available as a theme app block, so the map can live inside a real page rather than floating over the store
- Launches native turn-by-turn directions, and supports curbside pickup and delivery use cases
- Nothing between 1 location and 50, a two-shop retailer pays the same $9.99 as a fifty-shop chain
- The free plan shows the app’s branding on your storefront
- The map widget (theme app block) is paid-only; free users get the floating overlay
- 4.6 is the lowest rating of the established apps in this batch, with 2% one-star and 2% two-star
- A locator is only as good as your address data, the app cannot fix wrong or stale store details

Before you spend trial time
- Start on the free plan, it is a real plan, so you can evaluate the map before paying anything
- Check what the app branding looks like on your storefront and decide whether removing it alone is worth $9.99
- Test the directions button on an actual phone, which is where customers will use it
- If you want the map inside a page rather than floating, confirm the app block places correctly in your theme
- Bulk import a test file before entering dozens of locations by hand
- Verify your address data resolves to the right pin, bad addresses are the usual cause of a bad locator
Pricing
Plans (verify on the listing): Free: 1 store location, floating Google Maps locator, customisable appearance, no API key, but the app’s branding appears in your store. Basic $9.99/mo ($95.90/yr, ~20% off): removes branding, up to 50 locations, adds the map widget app block, pop-up modal, custom CSS and bulk import/export. Advanced $19.99/mo ($191.90/yr): the same feature set up to 500 locations. Pro $39.99/mo ($383.90/yr): up to 2,000 locations. Paid plans carry a 7-day free trial. Unlike most apps from this developer, the free tier here is available to live stores rather than development stores only.

Closing take
This is the rare utility app where the free plan is genuinely usable and the paid upgrade is honest about what it buys. A single-location shop can install it, get a working map with directions, and never pay. A chain pays for scale and for getting someone else’s branding off its storefront, which is a reasonable trade at ten dollars.
The no-API-key design is the reason to pick this over building it yourself. Store locators look trivial until you meet Google’s billing console; this app makes them trivial again.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Google Maps API key?
No. The app states that no API key is required on every plan, including the free one. That removes the Google Cloud billing account, key restrictions and quota management that normally make a store locator a technical project.
Is there a real free plan?
Yes, and unusually for this developer it is available to live stores. It covers one store location with the floating map and customisable appearance, but displays the app’s branding in your store.
How many locations can I add?
One on the free plan, up to 50 on Basic ($9.99/mo), up to 500 on Advanced ($19.99/mo) and up to 2,000 on Pro ($39.99/mo). There is no tier between 1 and 50.
Can I put the map on a specific page?
Yes, on paid plans. The map widget is a theme app block, so you can place it in a Stores page, a footer or anywhere the theme editor allows. The free plan provides the floating overlay only.
Does it support curbside pickup?
The listing markets it for curbside pickup and delivery use cases, since it points customers to a physical address and launches navigation. It is a wayfinding tool rather than a pickup scheduling or inventory system.
Can I import locations in bulk?
Yes, on paid plans, bulk import and export of store locations is included from the Basic tier upward.
