What HelpCenter actually does
The FAQ builder uses ChatGPT to draft answers from your store’s settings and policies, which you edit rather than write from scratch. Those publish to a dedicated FAQ page with twelve pre-made templates, adjustable colours and layouts, and they can also appear as product-page tabs and accordions, or as a pop-up. Multilingual FAQs are supported, three languages on Basic, five on Standard, with translation through a partner app. Because the FAQ page is a real indexable page, it has SEO value beyond deflecting tickets.
The helpdesk consolidates email, live chat and Facebook Messenger into one ticket view, with chatbots handling first contact and a self-service widget where customers can search FAQs and track orders without opening a conversation. The free tier allows one active live chat at a time and one chatbot; paid tiers unlock unlimited chatbots, unlimited support agents and an unlimited knowledge base. Product-specific tabs are unlimited even on the free plan.

Pros & cons
- Unlimited support agents from $5.99, most helpdesks charge per seat
- AI FAQ builder drafts answers from your own store settings and policies
- FAQs appear as an indexable page and as product-page tabs, where questions are actually asked
- Self-service widget includes order tracking, which deflects the single most common ticket
- Pricing rewards deflection: better FAQs mean fewer tickets and a lower bill
- Per-ticket overage means a busy month costs more than the headline price
- Free tier is 10 tickets a month and one live chat at a time
- 4.6 is the weakest rating among the apps we would recommend in this batch
- No Built for Shopify badge
- We have not run it on a live store; this assessment comes from the listing, pricing and review distribution

Before you spend trial time
- Count last month’s support conversations and match that to a ticket tier before paying
- Start with the five questions you answer most and publish those as FAQs first
- Put the FAQ accordion on product pages, not just the FAQ page, that is where questions arise
- Check the AI-drafted answers against your actual policies; generated text gets details wrong
- Enable order tracking in the widget, since ‘where is my order’ is usually the biggest single category
- Watch the ticket count for a month to see whether FAQ deflection is actually reducing volume

Closing take
The helpdesk is solid and the unlimited-agents policy is genuinely generous at $5.99, but the FAQ and self-service side is where the money is saved, because a ticket that never gets opened costs nothing to resolve.
Publish your most-asked questions properly, put them on the product pages where they are asked, and let the helpdesk handle what is left. Then watch the ticket count, under this pricing model, a falling number is both a better customer experience and a smaller invoice.

Frequently asked questions
How is HelpCenter priced?
By helpdesk tickets with per-ticket overage: free for 10 tickets then $0.25 each, $5.99 for 50 then $0.16 each, or $19.99 for 300 then $0.15 each. Count your real monthly conversations before choosing, since overage is where it gets expensive.
Does it charge per support agent?
No. Unlimited support agents are included from the $5.99 Basic plan, which is unusual, most helpdesks charge per seat, so a small team can be much cheaper here.
Can it write my FAQs for me?
It drafts them with ChatGPT from your store’s settings and policies, which you then edit. Always check the generated answers against your actual terms, because AI-written policy text gets specifics wrong and your FAQ is a promise to customers.
Will the FAQ page help SEO?
It is a real indexable page rather than a widget, so it can rank for the questions people ask about your store. The bigger win is usually deflection, answering on the product page before the question becomes an email.
What channels does the helpdesk cover?
Email, live chat and Facebook Messenger in one ticket view, with chatbots for first contact. The free plan limits you to one active live chat at a time and one chatbot.
Is there order tracking?
Yes, in the self-service widget, so customers can check their order without opening a ticket. Given that ‘where is my order’ is the most common support question on most stores, this is the single most valuable deflection feature here.
